Teaching
Sam holds a Licentiate in teaching from the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) and is an experienced teacher of all styles, ages and abilities.
His current teaching portfolio includes teaching within the music department at Christ Church University Canterbury, The King’s School, Rochester, The Campion School, Havering, Newton Prep School, Battersea and St Mary’s School, Lambeth. Previous teaching experience include the First Musical Academy, Stratford, The Da Capo Foundation, North London and at Golders Hill Prep School, Golders Green, where he was director of music for a term.
Teaching Style
While Sam recognises the clear link between enjoyment of playing and progress, he also expects his pupils to work hard. He has a proven track record in successfully guiding students through graded exams and final recitals right up to undergraduate level. For younger students, Sam is also familiar with the Kodaly and Dalcroze school of teaching and as director of music at Golders Hill School led class-sized groups using this approach.
